It seems like all operating systems to be going through a UI overhaul, and it sucks. I hate Gnome 3, I hate KDE 4, I hate the Metro/explorer hybrid thing with a different set of apps for each. Unity has grown on me because I do have a netbook, but before my netbook I hated Unity as well. Don’t fix what isn’t broken. Gnome 2 was just fine, and most Windows users were content with XP, some are just getting used to 7, and then Microsoft goes batshit with 8. Hell of a way to kill modern computing. How many of us actually own tablets that aren’t running Android or iOS? It seems like if I want to customize anything these days, I have to recompile my own kernel and write my own DE… -_-
