The differences between make and Automake are very similar to the differences between C and C++.
The most basic single-line Makefile.am generates a Makefile.in file (an Autoconf template) containing nearly 350 lines of make script.

Proprietary software may be given away.
But open source software implies source-level distribution.
Source-based Linux distributions.

Наоборот хорошо. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_build_s... хорошо. cmake хорошо. maven плохо. SCons плохо.
